Nothing says, "Paris" like this baby!

As you have figured out by now. . .
As you have figured out by now everything on this blog happens in reverse order. Somehow this synchs up with Duane's life, but he has no idea how? After "Shakespeare & Company" the rest of the day was rather ordinary, but in a good way. There are a thousand museums in Paris. Duane's idea is to visit all that seem even mildly interesting. . . The Musee Cluny falls into this category. Better known as the National Museum of the Middle Ages, the Cluny is better than you'd think. Sure it houses lots and lots of statuary with no heads and no noses, but what did you expect? . . . They're Really, Really Old! Much of the stuff in here was once glued to Notre Dame and Saint Chapelle, but fell off (or in some cases, ripped off) over the years, but the real Bell Ringer in this museum is the 'Dame a la Licorne' (Lady with the the Unicorn) tapestries! Woven sometime in the 16th Century, they look like they just came off the the loom last week. Stunning! One begins to get a sense of just how old some of this stuff is when walking about in here. . . It is OLD!
