Rouen had always been on our list, but we didn't really know what to expect. Travel writers are such blowhards you just never know. In this case they were way off the base. This city is WAY BETTER than any travel writer ever told us about. It was fabulous! As it turned out it was Saturday there was a big fall celebration going on with thousands. (maybe it was just Saturday). Regardless, there were people everywhere and every single one was having the time of their life. We are certain cuz we asked. . .
Duane and Paula set our eyes on Notre Dame (Yes, they do have one in very city) and were blown away. "Magnificent!" Yelled Paula and someone told her to pipe down. She did and we were allowed entrance. This place is huge. . . We can't tell you how huge, but here's a picture of the outside:
Well, actually that doesn't give you a clue. . . Trust me! It is huge"
Yep, it just goes up and up and up! And inside?. . . . Wow!
Paula and Duane are probably over exposed to cathedrals, but we never get tired of looking at these magnificent temples to The Lord! Today we only went in 3 . . . It was a great day:
And here is the organ. . . We didn't get lucky today as there was no organ practice, but Wow!
And here are a few more from the day, including the couple of the day. . . They are the ones intertwined on the lawn behind the church. We are certain The Lord approves of this behavior!
These young people are an inspiration to us all. If you can get it on like this in the shadow of "The Lord's House" you are destined for greatness. So sayeth with The Lord.
