Today's winner of the "Best T-Shirt" contest goes to a confused/conflicted young man with the T-Shirt that loudly proclaims, "I Hate this T-Shirt". . . Which begs the question, "Why did you buy it and, more importantly, why are you wearing it?" Perhaps it is all explained by the picture of a silly cat on the front of the shirt. For me this explains nothing, but perhaps for this unfortunate young man it speaks volumes. . . . We'll never know as he peddled off on his bike just moments after I asked him to explain himself.
Our "Best Couple" award goes to a nice couple from Australia (Duane knows this because he talked to them) so here is where the award comes from. . . As we first set eyes on them in the Tuileries when a striking young woman appeared from behind a monumental monument. She was a statuesque lady with mid length auburn hair, green eyes, oyster colored crop pants and bright turquoise tank top and sensible, but stylish brown shoes. She was just short of being gorgeous. Her husband (Yes they are married) was a good 5" shorter than her, balding, squat, pudgy and wearing the most remarkable pairing of clothes to date. . . Oddly unmatched shades of charcoal and awful looking black sneakers. Okay, so that's is not so unusual, but then we came face to face with the guy. He was seriously unattractive to the point of being grotesque. He did, however have a Nice smile. We watched them a few minutes while they attempted a selfie with the Louvre in the background. After three unsuccessful selfie attempts Duane stepped in and saved the day for this amazing couple. That is how we know so much about them. We stood within a few feet of them and had a rather delightful conversation. She was as delightful as her appearance and he was equally charming. I expect that is all it takes. Being nice. Still?. . . Again we have no pictures as that would just be uncouth.
