This is either the first slide rule (For you youngsters, a slide rule was the coolest tool on the planet) or one of the first. It was gorgeous! Right beside it was this set of Drafting tools that made Duane hyperventilate. Duane finds it hard to believe that this is what he used when he first started drafting!
From there it just got better. . . Paula thought this was going to be bust day, but fell in love with the photo opportunities. Here are some random shots that caught her eye:
It is just cool? Huh?
Being a budding photographer, Paula got a kick out of the old cameras! Here are some more:

Again, you youngsters may have to google "Typewriter" to find out what this is. The keyboard was almost the same except the a and q were switched and the w and c were switched. Duane thinks they just hadn't gotten around to formalizing the QWERTY keyboard. Science and technology doesn't always travel in a straight line.
The French ( it is their museum after all) were trying hard to make their own case for being on top of science and technology and invention, but had to give Henry credit for the Model T. They did take a swipe at him along the way and said it made a mess of American culture. I think the words they used were, "Ford's Model T created chaos in America" . . . Seemed as though Mr. Peugeot was asleep at the wheel. And Mr. Citroen was still working out the kinks of his latest dream. Meanwhile Henry was kicking their ass.
